Brian Sommar, Director of Business Development
Brian represents the creative “bridge” within MPS Communications. His 35-plus years of graphic arts experience include positions that ranged from Art Director to Executive Director of Advertising Production and Monthly Operations. At MPS Communications, Brian combines his 10 years of operational experience at TV Guide with his formal training in design to develop systems and processes for pharmaceutical and health care organizations. As a project management practitioner, his approach to design marries the core processes of project management with fundamental principles of marketing. The creation of this “bridge” between these two different disciplines is what drives the design effort to achieve the stated business goals of the project.
Brian believes clearly defined business goals and measurements of success create the foundation for all projects.
Bruce Miller, Data Archive Director
Bruce brings over 35 years of Direct Mail, Document and Management experience to MPS Communications. During the course of his career, he led technology and operations teams at some of the premier graphics arts institutions in the USA. Organizations such as R.R. Donnelley & Sons, Banta Direct Marketing and Harte-Hanks benefited greatly from Bruce’s expertise in data hygiene and document management.
At MPS, Bruce oversees the data archive category. His past experience working with incomplete and inconsistent data files allows him to customize a solution for each client. Whether it is sensitive employee pension information or confidential business documents, his team arrives on-site, converts your paper files to searchable PDF files and leaves like we were never there!
Michael Boorum, Project Management Office Director
Michael has over 20 years of experience in benefits administration (401k, pension and health & welfare) working as a Client Services Representative, Systems Implementation Specialist, Systems Implementation Manager, National Implementation Leader and Project Manager. He has managed national Client Central Services teams providing standards on processing procedures and quality review. He also has experience in Configuration Management as a subject matter expert in the development of the CMMI model.
Michael graduated with a BBA in Accounting from Niagara University. He is highly talented in using his skill set to help an organization streamline services and become more efficient.
Jeff Dodd, Director of Systems Development
Jeff views most repetitive tasks as opportunities for automation. As the Director of Systems Development at MPS Communications, he leverages over 30 years working on different technology platforms to improve the accuracy and quality of MPS products and services.
Never content with version 1 of any solution, Jeff continually evolves and refines MPS technical systems to increase throughput. The gains in speed of these automated processes allow MPS to make good on the MPS responsive service model.
He is proudest of his 12 years with an animal rescue, creating marketing pieces and communications systems with a shoe-string budget.
Joe Coyle, Client Solutions Director
Joe brings 15 plus years of experience in the printing/graphics/and coordination in the medical/HR markets. He specializes in project management, client solutions, inventory management and production coordination. As a manager and business leader, he has provided expertise and project coordination to multiple jobs, and insight into direct mailings/printing and client service in the high paced digital printing industry.
He keeps communication channels open to improve the client experience when working with MPS. Joe believes “We need to make our clients understand the processes we deploy to achieve the highest degree of accuracy, security and service for all of their needs. That is what a “client first” culture delivers.”
Michael Whelan, Production Director
Mike serves as the Production Director at MPS Communications. He brings 20-plus years of experience in; Commercial Printing, Production, Quality Assurance, Operations Management, and Workflow Planning to MPS. Mike manages all aspects of MPS printing and fulfillment jobs, which include: resource planning, scheduling, procurement of consumables and facilities management. His knowledge of USPS regulations helps reduce mailing costs for our clients.
Kelly Maher, Senior Marketing Communications Manager
Kelly is Senior Marketing Communications professional with significant experience in the healthcare industry, including expertise in marketing, event management, and communications. Recognized as goal-oriented leader with an excellent work ethic and the ability to manage multiple priorities with challenging timelines and build cross functional relationships. Kelly has expertise in developing and implementing marketing initiatives supporting the corporate brand and individual products, including: brochures, sell sheets, email blasts, promotional items, lead generation, online banner ads, webcasts, audio/video needs, event booth materials, tabletops, trade show management, and event planning.
